Tips for better results
- - Be specific about style, colors, and mood
- - Include lighting and composition details
- - Use artistic style references like "photorealistic" or "watercolor"
- - For image-to-image, upload multiple reference images for better results
- - Describe how you want to transform all uploaded images
- - If generation fails, try switching to a different model in the dropdown for different results and fewer restrictions
Nano Banana 2.1 for travel stories and place-based images
Decide how a location should fill the frame. Use Nano Banana 2.1 on Soar2 AI to explore viewpoints, foreground details and room for a traveler or headline in a travel-story image.
Describe where the viewer stands
A place becomes easier to visualize when the brief explains the camera position, near and distant features, and the route the eye should follow.
Build the scene from near to far
Write a required prompt of up to 20,000 characters. Describe the foreground, main subject and distant landscape, then add camera height, time of day and the space needed for people or editorial text.
Distinguish location from atmosphere
Attach up to 14 JPEG, PNG or WebP references, each up to 30 MB. Say which image defines the building or landscape and which only suggests weather, lighting or color.
Choose the frame around the place
A tall street view and a broad coastal scene need different compositions. Select a fixed ratio or Auto, then 1K, 2K or 4K and JPG or PNG; inspect how the requested landmarks fit inside the result.
Explore a viewpoint before settling the story layout
A travel image may need to establish a destination, show a small human figure for scale or leave room for a headline. Nano Banana 2.1 lets you request these compositional ideas as still images, using text alone or visual references.
On Soar2 AI, Nano Banana 2.1 is listed separately from Nano Banana 2, and this page opens 2.1. Fresh settings default to 1K resolution, Auto aspect ratio and JPG output. The images are generated interpretations; check real-place details against reliable source material before presenting them as factual.
Use spatial instructions readers can picture
Describe a path entering from the lower left, a village on the middle slope or an open sky above the horizon. These details define the composition more clearly than a destination name alone.
Separate concept imagery from location evidence
Use generated scenes to explore presentation. For an actual place, verify landmarks, building layouts and geography independently, and make the illustrative nature clear where the context calls for it.
Choose a composition that supports the place story
Evaluate what the picture tells a viewer about distance, scale and the relationship between its features.
Set a budget for viewpoint alternatives
On Soar2 AI, a 1K image requires 2 credits, 2K requires 4, and 4K requires 6. Adding location references has no separate fee. Each newly generated viewpoint is another image request.
Balance scale with readable landmarks
Check whether the foreground blocks the subject, whether people provide the intended sense of scale and whether the horizon sits where you requested. Compare compositions in your intended story layout.
Prepare the image for editorial use
Download JPG or PNG, test the crop in your page or cover, and add captions in your layout tool. Verify place names and any factual claims separately; a visually plausible result is not a location record.
Two briefs built around a sense of place
Use a fictional setting for free exploration, or clearly label the role of a real-location reference when planning a concept image.
A coastal opening image with room for a heading
Choose Text to Image and 21:9. Prompt: “A fictional coastal village seen from a footpath above the bay, a low stone wall in the foreground, small houses across the middle distance, sea on the right, horizon in the upper third, soft early light, uncluttered pale sky at upper left for a later headline, no text.” Check the depth and headline area in the intended layout.
A vertical courtyard composition from a reference
Upload a courtyard photo and choose 9:16. Prompt: “Use the reference for the courtyard’s arches and paving pattern. Make a visual concept viewed from beneath the near arch, one small traveler with a blue backpack in the middle distance, an open passage visible beyond, gentle morning shadows, no lettering.” Compare the arches and passage with the source; review the traveler’s scale and the vertical crop.
From location notes to an image composition
Work through the viewpoint, output shape and final editorial checks in that order.
Name the viewpoint and depth layers
Choose a real-location reference or describe an invented place. Explain where the camera is, what sits in the foreground and which distant feature should draw attention; include a prompt even when uploading photos.
Fit the image to the story placement
Pick a ratio for the page, cover or vertical post, then select 1K, 2K or 4K and JPG or PNG. Check the displayed generation credits and sign in before submitting.
Inspect the space and verify the place
Review perspective, horizon, human scale and requested open areas. If the scene represents a real location, verify its details independently. Download the result for your layout; the task can be revisited in My Creations.
Questions about travel-story imagery
Plan the frame while keeping generated visual ideas separate from verified information about a place.
What will a location concept image cost?
Nano Banana 2.1 on Soar2 AI uses 2 credits for a 1K image, 4 for a 2K image and 6 for a 4K image. Location reference images do not incur a separate reference fee. Check the cost again when generating another composition.
Can I use my travel photos as references?
Yes. Up to 14 JPEG, PNG or WebP images can be used, with each image limited to 30 MB. Public HTTP or HTTPS image links must remain accessible and meet the same limits. Explain which photo supplies the location structure and which supplies only light or atmosphere.
Which ratios can I use for a travel cover or story image?
All 15 options are available: auto, 1:1, 2:3, 3:2, 1:4, 4:1, 3:4, 4:3, 4:5, 5:4, 1:8, 8:1, 9:16, 16:9 and 21:9. Choose 1K, 2K or 4K resolution separately, and check the crop in the intended publishing layout.
Can I treat the result as an accurate photograph of a destination?
No. Generated images can alter architecture, signs, terrain or the relationships between landmarks. Verify real-location details against reliable source material and identify the work as a concept or illustration when needed. This model has no Google Search setting to verify places for you.
How should I describe a place without reference photos?
Start with the viewpoint, then describe foreground, middle distance and background. Add light, weather and any area that should remain clear. Both modes require a prompt with a 20,000-character limit. Initial settings are 1K, Auto and JPG; PNG is another download format, not a guarantee of transparency.
What if the location-image task fails?
Confirmed failed tasks receive a refund of their generation credits. A slow response or temporarily unavailable status check is not enough to mark a task failed. Look up the original task again before deciding whether to submit a new composition.
